This post contains affiliate links, but they are all for books that I own or read.
I would never link to anything that I don't love and recommend personally.
I'm a bit of a book fiend once I get into the zone. I love a good read, but just don't seem to find the time between work, arty stuff and my blog. I do most of my reading in the summer months, sitting outside in the sunshine or by the pool on holiday, there really is nothing better. So I'm excited to be doing this blog post as part of the Planner Girls Collective.
OTHER BOOKS OF NOTE:
There are far too many other books I love to list them all so I will just give a few shout outs.
Macbeth - awesome, enough said!
Life After Life by Kate Atkinson - a beautiful read, had me crying on my sun lounger more than once.
The Godfather Trilogy - pure grit. I love a gangster book or film.
Shutter Island - amazing novel, amazing film.
A Secret History by Donna Tartt - really well written and quite edge of the seat stuff at times.
The Hannibal Books by Thomas Harris - great reads.
As a child I loved to read Sweet Valley Twins and Sweet Valley High, whilst at University I was obsessed with the horror and thriller genre, The Rats trilogy by James Herbet and Domain by Dean Koontz were my favourites.
So there we have it, my favourite books. I would love to hear what your favourites are and if any of mine are in your top list too. Be sure to check out the other lovely planner ladies blogs as part of the Planner Girl Collective.
A short post to say that I have been on TV on BBC1. You can catch the programme from the link below available for the next 29 days. My students and myself are on for the last 5 minutes, but the whole programme is well worth a watch. We feature as part of the DH Lawrence section in the last 10 minutes (see the blog post before this one).
Watch here - The Books That Made Britain
I'm going to be on TV... exciting stuff if a little nerve-wracking. My students are the main reason of course, I'm actually still unsure as to whether I will appear at all. We filmed way back in July as part of workshops with Nottingham University for the DH Lawrence festival which we take an active role in every year. With any luck the students work and rehearsal process will be shown for a few minutes as part of the Sons and Lovers section. So far the festival has seen us performing in all of DH Lawrence's houses, at The Lakeside Theatre at the University and the creating a film for the University's website.
Be sure to tune in on Sunday if you are from the East Midlands region on BBC1 at 15.45.
In other exciting news, I have decided to offer some of my pixel graphics as free printables.
I have a lot of graphics that I have pixelled over the last 15 years and it would be a shame not to offer them up to the Planner World. The graphics will be downloadable pdf files for use in planners for personal use only and can be used to pretty up your pages as stickers. They do unfortunately have my old sites copyright on, but you can cut around most of it. Teaser below...watch this space ._.
